WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT FROM ME, CAMRY!?!?!?!
Rack and pinion bushings, apparently. Had some slop in the steering that's gotten worse now that I have new struts on all four corners. Checked everything underneath and its all tight, so I had the wife turn the wheel back and forth with the car on the ground, and having weight on the wheels did the trick. I was starting to think the rack or the intermiediate shaft had wear or play, but NOPE.
Whole fucking rack is moving back and forth about 1/2 inch. Fuuuuuu..... at least the parts, even upgraded ones, are cheap.
Whiteline parts for a Camry? WHO KNEW!?!?!

I think my Grand Prix needs that too. Possibly even the Audi. When I reverse into my spot in the GP, I have the wheel turned to angle the car in, and then when I crank it back the other way at low speeds, there's an audible metallic clunk.

I think it's just jealous of it's future replacement.

The weird thing is, there's no sound. Just the act of turning the steering wheel, and the drive wheels don't follow for a split second. Kinda spooky. Only happens with quick turning, and let's be honest... its a Camry. It doesn't get driven that hard.

I think you need Delrin bushings.

Is it because the Camry is lacking one itself?
